Angie Young has served on Synergy's executive leadership team as general manager people and culture since the business was formed in 2014 following Western Australia's biggest merger of two energy businesses.
Angie has steered significant change programs within the business including the introduction of an award-winning employee reward and recognition program, new corporate values and a renewed approach to the organisation's culture leading to targets for major improvements in Synergy's organisational health index.
High on her agenda is Synergy's agile transformation. The agile capability program has been running for around two years out of the people and culture team, with agile coaches and scrum masters helping the organisation grow adaptive leadership practices to solve complex problems. Speed, engagement and transparency have been some of the benefits delivered to the business.
Angie leads a large and diverse team of human resource professionals specialising in remuneration, recruitment, employee relations, performance and talent capabilities, agile and organisational health and culture.
Angie has more than 25 years human resource experience across government and energy, mining, construction and media industries. She holds a Master of Business Administration (Executive), a Bachelor of Arts majoring in industrial relations and psychology and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Angie is married to Phil, is a mother of two children, Sebastian and Maya, and enjoys travel and history.
