Jil Fairweather has developed her skills as a learning and development professional across a number of industries and disciplines through working with leaders and team members to build their capability and personal development growth. A teacher by background, Jil has extensive local and international teaching experience and has worked with some of Australia’s largest construction, mining, engineering and resource companies in national Learning & Development and Talent roles.
She is currently the Head of Learning and Development at one of Caterpillar’s largest dealers, WesTrac. After partnering with the business to design a WesTrac Competency Framework her team specialises in developing business and leadership competencies via a variety of programs using a blended learning methodology. Her team also delivers apprentice training to over 400 students and coordinates and delivers internal and external customers for post-trade, operator and safety training. The Technology Training team at WesTrac is at the forefront of autonomous training and is currently setting up an autonomous training facility in Collie, WA.
Jil’s approach to learning and development recognises that all changes in culture or behaviour begin with changing how people see themselves, others and the world around them. She specialises in identifying development capabilities in teams and individuals and then supporting them, through leadership models and effective training tools.
